A. The second, third, and fourth Wednesday of each month beginning at 6:00p.m.
Q. Who can attend Council meetings? [ back to top ]
A. The Council meetings are open to the public, anyone can attend.
Q. How do I request a copy of a City record? [ back to top ]
A. Contact the City Clerk's Department at (760) 633-2601 or print out the attached records request form, fill in the information, and mail it to the City Clerk's Department, 505 S. Vulcan Avenue, Encinitas, CA 92024, Attn: City Clerk's Office. All copies are 10¢.
Q. How do I get something on the City Council agenda for an upcoming meeting? [ back to top ]
A. The Mayor is responsible for placing items on the agenda. You may write a letter, phone the Mayor, or schedule a meeting to discuss the issue. You may also attend a Council meeting and speak for 3 minutes under "oral communications" asking that your issue be considered at a future meeting. By law, Council members are unable to discuss any issues that are not listed on the posted agenda.

A. Call the Executive Secretary at (760) 633-2618 to schedule a meeting.
Q. How do I appeal a Commission or Staff Member's decision? [ back to top ]
A. Appeals Request Form. All appeals must be filed with the City Clerk within 15 days of the decision accompanied by a $250 filing fee. An appeal must be delivered to the City Clerk by 5:00 p.m. of the 15th calendar day following the determination.
Note: Pursuant to Section 66452.5 of the State Map Act, a 10 day appeal period is required for subdivisions, tentative maps and tentative parcel maps. A public hearing is required to be held within 30 days of the appeal.
*In addition to the $250 filing fee, appeals filed by the project applicant (real party in interest) seeking City Council review of a final, non-recommending determination by the Planning and Building Director or Planning Commission, the City shall require full cost recovery. The project applicant shall deposit with the city, at the time of filing the appeal, a minimum of $950 or other amount as determined by the Planning and Building Director to be sufficient to cover the expected costs of processing an appeal, including, but not limited to staff time, public notice costs and overhead.
