Encinitas Holiday Parade- December 6th

The City of Encinitas is excited to announce the category winners of the 2008 Encinitas Holiday Parade, held on Saturday, December 6th. Thousands of people turned out to cheer on the many outstanding entries. We congratulate the category winners:

Easter Egg Hunt Festival- Saturday, April 11

The City of Encinitas Easter Egg Hunt Festival will take place on Saturday, April 11th from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Ecke Sports Park, located at 278 Saxony Rd.  This free event features arts and crafts, entertainment, prizes, jump houses, face painting, pictures with the bunny (for a fee) and of course, 24,000 eggs!  Egg hunt times are as follows: 10:15 – 2 years and under, 10:45 – 3 year olds, 11:15 – 4 & 5 year olds, 11:45 – 6 & 7 year olds, 12:15 – 8 & 9 year olds.  For more information, please call (760) 633-2740.

Senior Information Fair- May

The Senior Information Fair is sponsored by the Encinitas Senior Citizen Commission and the City of Encinitas. Taking place at the Community and Senior Center, the Fair features over 65 exhibit booths on social services, housing, recreation, transportation, in-home services support and more. There will be free refreshments and entertainment. The fair will be held in early May and runs from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.. For more information call (760) 943-2261.

City of Encinitas 5K-1K Run/Walk- Saturday, May 16

This fun filled community event will be held on Saturday, May 16th, 2009 at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas. This event is just a part of the Encinitas Sports and Fitness Festival weekend of events that includes a Triathlon, Century Bicycle Tour, Swim and Paddle races and a Fitness Expo. Held annually, this USA Track and Field sanctioned race features free refreshments, a popular event t-shirt and goody bag for all participants. Participation medals are handed out to all youth runners and walkers. Each age group’s top three finishers will receive an award.  All ages are welcome rain or shine, however, no skateboards, roller blades or scooters please. Summer Sunday Concerts by the Sea- July/August

This four concert series held in July and August takes place right on Moonlight Beach so bring your beach blankets and chairs. Each concert features a different musical style. Reserve 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. for some great music and dancing under the sun. For more information call (760) 633-2740.

Feeling Fit Festival- October

This FREE event for all ages is held at Leo Mullen Sports, across from the Encinitas Ranch Shopping Center.  Drop by and take part in many fun, hands-on activities including the giant rock wall, jumpers, guided trail hikes, drop-in sports clinics, games, fitness class demos, music, health and fitness information, prize giveaways and more.
