Current Development Projects
The City purchased 44 acres of land known as the Hall property, located west of I-5 and south of Santa Fe Drive in Cardiff to be developed as a community park. Beginning in the summer 2002, public workshops were held to determine the use and amenities for the site. In April 2003, the Encinitas City Council approved the Master Plan for the site. The Plan is available for viewing on the City's website under City Project Updates. A comprehensive Environmental Impact Report (EIR) has been completed and was certified by the City Council. Construction documents are currently being prepared and the site has been cleared in preparation for construction activity. More information on the project may be found under City Projects Updates or by clicking the link above.
A community meeting to present information about the lighting component of the project, as part of the CPP program was held on Thursday, June 24, 2010. Click here for more information on the project.
