To enhance the quality of life in the City of Encinitas by providing quality, accessible recreation/leisure, park, beach, and community services in a way that:

  • Generates family wellness, individual self-esteem, feelings of safety, accomplishment, fulfillment, a sense of pride for our community, learning, joy and even love.
     
  • Facilitates intellectual, emotional, social and physical development, self reliance, family support and mutual understanding patterned to strengthen the fabric of our community.
     
  • Builds and contributes to our local economy through reducing dependencies on health and social services through building a fit and productive citizenry and increased tourism and leisure opportunities which attract economic development to areas known for their high quality of life.
     
  • Acknowledges the importance of our environment through the promotion of environmental awareness and encouragement of environmentally sensitive planning, preserving and restoring significant natural areas and corridors.

So that in the long term, Encinitas remains an excellent place to live, work and play.
