Since 1995 the City of Encinitas Housing Authority (EHA) has operated a Section 8 Program. The funding for this program comes from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and is administered by local housing authorities. The Section 8 Program offers rental assistance to very low-income Encinitas households through a voucher-based program.

Housing Authority Board
The City of Encinitas Housing Authority was created in 1995, and is comprised of the City Council and two tenant Commissioners. The Housing Authority is the advisory and decision making board to Housing Authority Owned properties as well as the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program. Updated Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Administrative Plan
The updated Administrative Plan will be presented for consideration to the Housing Authority on June 28, 2017. Notice of Availability for Public Review has been posted. The proposed changes are available for public review and comment from June 2 through June 16, 2017. The current Administrative Plan can be accessed here.
